Bas Rutten: Anderson Silva changed his story three times

Anderson Silva Shocked

Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva’s controversial drug test from UFC 183 is finally behind him, no matter how unfavorable the consequences are.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission listened to everything Anderson Silva and his representatives had to say about his UFC 183 drug test failure and still chose to suspend him for a year, as well as fine him over $380,000.

This positive drug test of Silva’s was not handled well by either party and everybody should be happy to put this behind them. Silva tested positive for banned substances before his super-fight with Nick Diaz ever took place at “UFC 183”. However, the NSAC did not get the results of the test back until the card concluded. The fight itself was bizarre as both Silva and Diaz circled and taunted each other for twenty five minutes before “The Spider’s” hand was raised in victory.

Of course, his win has since been reversed to a no-contest after his request to lift the suspension fell upon deaf ears. The former middleweight champion claimed he had taken a tainted sexual performance enhancing pill, but his story seemed to change a couple times. Inside MMA analyst and UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten called Silva out on changing his story several times:

“It’s weird. He’s changed his story now three times. First, he said he didn’t do it. Second time, he said it was to recover from the injury,” Rutten said. “Then a different story at his hearing. It was embarrassing.”

Do you think Silva is to blame for the story changing several times, or was it because of his translator? Will Anderson Silva ever make his return to the octagon or is it too late for the forty year old? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comment section below!
