Belfort Wants To Fight Weidman In Brazilian Stadium, Says Champ Needs To Train More

By BJPENN.COM News - June 28, 2014

In a recent interview with The Brazilian Press, Former UFC Champion Vitor Belfort called out the middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and requested that a fight between the two take place at a Brazilian Soccer Stadium.

Weidman faces off with Lyoto Machida next week in Las Vegas. Should he be victorious, Vitor Belfort is believed to be the next title challenger.

‘The Phenom’ though, is aware that this time next week, a new champ may be crowned.

“I can only see Weidman vs. Belfort. I can only see this. I can’t talk about anything else, only about my belt. It won’t get in my head. Of course that I will watch the [Weidman-Machida] fight, but I only wait for a winner to fight me. I have no preference. I’m going after the title. I conquered this, that’s what I deserve.”

Belfort also had a quick message for the champ, “Bring Weidman. Tell him to train more. Weidman and Vitor. It’s a fight for Maracana.”
