Bernie Sanders campaigning to knockout presidential candidates with the help from MMA fighters

By Russell Ess - December 10, 2015

Bernie Sanders is getting more than a few votes from the MMA community for his Democratic nomination for President.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has gone on record to say that she is supporting Sanders in his run for President. MMA legend Wanderlei Silva is also campaigning behind Sanders and encouraging all MMA fighters to vote for the United States Senator from Vermont, who has acknowledged his support for MMA fighters to be included in the Muhammad Ali Act, which serves to reduce corruption in the sport and protect the fighters.

Now Sanders has put it out there on his own campaign with a post to his Instagram account featuring a photo of Jon Fitch with the MMA veteran’s quote as the caption reading:

“We like how Bernie supports the workers and workers rights. We’re in a different industry than a lot of laborers. We have a lot of unfair working conditions and there’s a piece of legislation that exists to protect boxers called the Mohamed Ali act and we just want to get the mixed martial arts put onto that bill, so we can get the same protections boxers get.” #HumansForBernie
