BJ Penn has kind words for injured featherweight champion Jose Aldo
Former two-division UFC champion and recent UFC Hall Of Fame inductee, B.J. Penn, was happy that current UFC featherweight champion and former training partner Jose Aldo decided not to fight while injured at this past weekend’s UFC 189 event in Las Vegas.
“The Prodigy” told reporters at the UFC Fan Expo that he had no interest in seeing Aldo compete if the Brazilian was not 100% healthy:
“If Aldo is not 100 percent, I do not want to see him inside that ring,” Penn stated.
Penn also delivered some kind words for the longtime featherweight title holder:
“Aldo, you’re the old lion,” Penn said. “You’re the champion. You’re the one with the record, you’re the one with the gold, you’re the one with all the records. The lion doesn’t care that the sheep laugh at him. Remember that. The lion just stays there. The animals make noise and tease. The guy with the belt is the lion.”
Do you agree with the thoughts of UFC legend B.J. Penn or do you think that Jose Aldo should have fought for the nearly $4 million that Dana White says “he left on the table”?
