UFC 185 Bonus Report: Dos Anjos, Pearson and 2 Others Win Big!
Performance of the Night: Rafael dos Anjos
Rafael dos Anjos did the unthinkable and absolutely dominated Anthony Pettis tonight. There was not one point in the fight where Pettis had the upperhand and he was mauled. To be fair, he suffered a busted eye that severely restricted his vision when Dos Anjos landed the very first punch but he did not use that as an excuse. Dos Anjos also walked into the fight with a busted MCL and STILL put on the performance he did tonight. If that doesn’t deserve an extra $50K, we don’t know what does.
Performance of the Night: Ross Pearson
Ross Pearson locked up the only true knockout of the night with his brutal KO of Sam Stout. Stout was caught off guard by a left hook from Pearson and was out before he hit the mat. As a matter of fact, Stout woke up when his head bounced off the canvas the first time!
Performance of the Night: Beniel Dariush
Beniel Dariush continued to impress as he not only grappled his way to victory, but he out-kicked a man known for his kicks in Cruickshank! Dariush wrapped the fight up with a rear naked choke in the second round.
Performance of the Night: Joanna Jedrzejczyk
If it wasn’t for Rafael dos Anjos, Jedrzejczyk would have been the most one-sided performance of the night. Esparza did not fight with the heart of a champion tonight and Jedrzejczyk made the title hers with a brutal technical knockout victory.
