Oh Canada!!!

Canadian fans will have more chances than ever to attend a UFC event in the “Great White North” this year, as it was announced today that the promotion will hold 5 events in Canada in 2014.

The big announcement came during today’s news conference in Quebec City. UFC executive Tom Wright stated that the promotion will do events in Quebec City, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Halifax in 2014.

The “TUF Nations: Finale” is set for Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City, Quebec on April 16.

Rogers Arena in Vancouver will play host to UFC 174, a pay-per-view event on June 14.

The UFC octagon will return to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario for the UFC 178 pay-per-view event on September 27.

The UFC will also make it’s debut in the province of Nova Scotia, when it hosts a “Fight Night” event at Halifax’s Metro Centre on October 4.

The fifth and final show north of the border will take place on December 6 when the UFC 181 pay-per-view event comes to us live from Montreal’s Bell Centre.

A handful of Canadian fighters joined Wright at the news conference, including Patrick Cote, Sarah Kaufman, Sam Stout and T.J. Grant.

Wright also announced the launch of a new program called “UFC Experience” which will take some of the company’s fighters to areas of the country that won’t have a chance to host a live event:

“We’ll also be taking the UFC into four other communities with UFC Experience, which is all about taking our athletes and brand and message into communities that most likely will never host a UFC event,” Wright said. “(We will visit) British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. By the end of the year, we’ll have been in six of Canada’s 10 provinces and truly have had an opportunity to bring our sport to as many locations as possible.”
