Carlos Condit vs. Thiago Alves to headline UFC Fight Night 67 in Brazil
A welterweight bout between former UFC interim title holder Carlos Condit and former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves will headline May’s ‘UFC Fight Night 67’ event in Brazil.
MMAFighting.com was first to announce the news.
Carlos Condit (29-8 MMA) has been out of action since March of 2014, this due to a knee injury which he suffered in his fight against Tyron Woodley at UFC 171. “The Natural Born Killer” has gone 1-3 in his past four octagon appearances, with his lone win coming against Martin Kampmann via TKO.
Meanwhile, Thiago Alves will be looking to extend his current win streak to three in a row when he faces Condit this May. “Pitbull” was last seen in action at January’s UFC 183 event, where he scored a tremendous come-from-behind victory over rising Canadian star Jordan Mein. Prior to that, Alves defeated Seth Baczynski via unanimous decision at April’s ‘UFC on FOX 11’ event in Orlando, Florida.
UFC Fight Night 67 takes place May 30 live from Goiania Arena in Goiania, Brazil.
