Cerrone Critiques Jury Fight: “I’m Upset With My Performance”
Donald Cerrone put on an incredibly dominant performance against Myles Jury in the co-main event of UFC 182, countering Jury’s takedown in the first round, and transitioning into an Omoplata before taking Jury’s back for the remainder of the round, nearly choking Jury out with a RNC.
In the second and third round, Cerrone landed combination after combination, and leg kick after leg kick, before ultimately taking Jury down in the third round. Cerrone got back to his feet, but Jury remained on his back, as if attempting to bait Cerrone to the ground.
What happened next was a series of spectacular and brutal leg kicks from Cerrone (See that here) that he has dubbed “The F**k You Kicks”.
He spoke about them at the UFC on FOX post-fight show:
“I’m a guy that doesn’t like hearing boos. My legacy is I want to be fighting my ass off all the time, so I don’t consider that a win.”
“I’m upset with my performance, and I’m going to go watch the tape and figure out what I need to do to capitalize if that happens again,” he said. “I’m very upset for the performance I put in tonight, and I apologize to everyone that was watching and the hype that was behind all that.”
“Oh, the f-ck you kicks? That’s what happened. I was trying to kick to either break my leg or his. I was very upset.”
