Cerrone Willing To Wait For UFC Title Shot
Donald Cerrone is one of the most dangerous men to ever step foot in the octagon. Not only will he knock a fellow lightweight’s block off, but he will do it on a moment’s notice. However, after his fight with John Makdessi at UFC 187 this weekend, Cerrone will be looking to sit on the sidelines for a title shot if the UFC presents it to him.
During the open workouts on Wednesday, Cerrone mentioned, “If I win this fight and they say, ‘Cowboy, we don’t know what we’re gonna do yet, have a seat,’ I’m gonna say, ‘Give me another fight,'” Cerrone said. “But if they say, ‘Cowboy, we’re giving you the title, here you go,’ I’ll sit and I’ll wait and I’ll go wakeboard my ass off all summer.”
Cerrone was originally scheduled to face Khabib Nurmagomedov this weekend, but Nurmy was forced out of the bout with a knee injury he suffered while training. Cerrone could have bowed out of his fight, but he decided to stay on the card. Do you think he made the right choice? Do you think he will win this weekend?
