Coach: ‘Holly Holm’s Training With Jon Jones Ahead Of Rousey Fight’
It looks like UFC bantamweight and upcoming title challenger Holly Holm has a secret weapon helping her train for UFC 193, and his name is Jon Jones.
The former UFC light heavyweight champ is still out of action, indefinitely suspended by the UFC following his run in with the law regarding a hit and run case.
Jones is waiting to see if the felony charges will be brought against him stemming from that incident, where he allegedly fled the scene of a car crash.
In the meantime, it sounds like he’s been in the gym helping other fighters prepare for their UFC fights.
Brandon Gibson, striking coach at Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA, told MMAFighting that Jones’ has been helping fighters like Andrei Arlovski and is now helping Holm with her upcoming fight against the champ Ronda Rousey.
Here’s what he said:
“He’s been helping Holly Holm a ton. Jon is a leader and he inspires the team and we just try to do the same for him. We try to inspire him wherever we can. He’s getting stronger ever day.”
“He helped Andrei a lot for the Travis Browne fight. That was kind of after he got in trouble and he would still go in there.”
Do you think working with Jones can give Holm a better chance against the seemingly unbeatable Rousey?
