Condit Calls Out the Winner of Lawler/MacDonald
Carlos Condit is on the fast track to a title shot in a division filled with contenders. Currently ranked fourth in the welterweight division, Condit is already eyeing a shot at the title after his win over Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67.
During a post-fight interview with Fox Sports, Condit was asked who he thinks will get him into a fight with the champion. Condit’s answer was simple: “The guy with the title.” He continued, “Whoever has the title after the [Robbie] Lawler and Rory [MacDonald] fight, I want that guy.”
Robbie Lawler is scheduled to defend his championship against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 on July 11, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be Lawler’s first title defense after defeating Johny Hendricks for the title at UFC 181.
MacDonald has won eight of his last nine fights, with the loss coming at the hands of now-champion Robbie Lawler. Their last bout took place at UFC 167 in 2013; Do you think MacDonald has improved enough to dethrone Lawler? Will Condit get the winner? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
