Correia fires shots at Tate: ‘UFC has no interest in her anymore!’

By BJPENN.COM News - September 21, 2015

Bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey sits atop a division stacked with women clamoring for a shot at the gold. “Rowdy” has defeated each and every opponent the UFC officials put in front of her and she has her sights set on Holly Holm next at UFC 193. If Holm fails to dethrone the champion, Miesha Tate could be next in line for a shot at the title.

Bethe Correia wants another quick path to the title, however, and she has her sights set on perennial contender Tate as well. “I want to fight a girl well ranked so I can show my evolution, but the girl I want to fight the most is Miesha Tate,” Correia told MMA Fighting.

It was speculated that Tate would be fighting Amanda Nunes next at UFC 194, but Tate isn’t even in talks with the UFC right now after they pulled a fast one on her by giving her title opportunity to Holm. Just as Tate laughed at Correia when she fell, “Pitbull” was there to taunt “Cupcake” when she didn’t get the next shot.

“A fight between Miesha and I would be way better,” Correia continued. “Fans would be more interested in watching it than Miesha against Amanda. No disrespect to Amanda, I love her. But I want to knock Miesha out, and I know she wants to knock me out too. She laughed at me when I lost to Ronda, and I laughed at her too. And when I say I will fight for the title again before she does, I truly believe it. The UFC has no interest in her anymore.”

Do you think Correia and Tate makes sense? What would be the next logical step for Correia considering she just lost to Rousey at UFC 190 in August? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
