It’s potentially the biggest fight in WMMA history that may never even happen. Rousey vs. Cyborg. Cris Cyborg wants to silence the skeptics by defeating Rousey, even going as far as to say she has her next three fights picked out: First she’ll drop to 135 and win the Invicta championship. Then she’ll fight Rousey at 135 in the UFC and win the UFC championship. Then give Rousey an immediate rematch to prove the first victory wasn’t a fluke. UFC President Dana White was quick to silence the rumors though, saying Cyborg wouldn’t fight in the UFC, and even went as far as to say she looked like Wanderlai Silva.

Cyborg has hinted that her contract with Invicta FC is almost up, and that she had one fight left. However Invicta President Shannon Knapp spoke to ESPN.com and said “I won’t confirm or deny where she is on her contract, but I can tell you she would still be contractually under Invicta on her current deal.”

After Cyborg’s longtime manager Tito Ortiz stepped down, Cyborg hired a new management team who is confident they can make Rousey vs. Cyborg happen.

Dana White changed his tune saying: “It’s not that I’m against Cyborg, It’s that she has been put in this box. Tito built this box and stuffed her in there and it’s really hurt her bad. ‘If she goes to 135, she will die. A doctor said it’ Who wants her to fight at 135 then? Not me.”

Dana is referring to the press conference held in February in which Tito Ortiz stated a doctor confirmed that Cris Cyborg would die if she cut to the bantamweight limit of 135 pounds.

Cyborg reportedly has difficulty making 135 pounds, stating that she walks around at close to 170 pounds. So the new plan for Cyborg to cut to 135 is to gradually drop the weight over several months under the supervision of a doctor, and as a result she would have to cut less weight to make it down to 125 pounds.

Rousey finished Sara McMann last month with a brutal liver shot, and is expected to face Cat Zingano next, who is recovering from knee surgery, as well as the tragic passing of her husband.

Despite her expected matchup with Zingano, Rousey still wants a fight with Cyborg, saying to ESPN officials: “I still want that fight, but she seems hell bent on it not happening.”
