D.C.: Don’t feel sorry for Jon Jones, Feel Sorry For The Pregnant Lady He Hit
Many fighters, like Chris Weidman, have come out and said that they could have easily been in the position of Jon “Bones” Jones. Daniel Cormier, however, is sick and tired of hearing about people feeling sorry for Jones and hopes that the attention will soon be directed at the situation he allegedly caused.
During a recent media scrum leading up to his fight with Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at UFC 187, Cormier said, “I feel bad for his family and the people around him, but he’s making these decisions.”
Daniel Cormier is referring to the decision that Jones allegedly made when he fled the scene of a crime that he apparently caused: A three-automobile car accident that caused the injury of a pregnant woman.
“I think it’s time for people to stop feeling sorry for this guy and make him realize that he has to get things done the right way. By feeling sorry for him, it’s almost like you enable the guy to continue to do bad things,” Cormier stated. “I mean, I don’t feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for the people closest to him. These decisions don’t affect just Jon. It affects every body around him. I don’t feel sorry for Jon; I feel sorry for the lady he hit in the car that has a baby coming. I feel sorry for his parents who have to wake up every morning and see those types of things in the media. I don’t feel sorry for him. He did this.”
