Dana White On Alistair Overeem: ‘He Doesn’t Like To Take Risk’
UFC president Dana White talked to FOX Sports 1 about heavyweight fighter Alistair Overeem’s win over Roy Nelson at UFC 185.
White praised Overeem, who is now on a two fight win streak, but did state that he would have liked to have seen him go for the finish.
“Alistair looked better than he’s ever looked, I just wish he had more killer instinct. He had Roy hurt at one point. He doesn’t like to take risks, but he looked good tonight.”
To be fair, in fights against Travis Browne and Bigfoot Silva, in which he was winning, he ended up getting knocked out because he got tired or just to aggressive. So it’s not a stretch to believe that those fights were in the back of Overeem’s head during his beat down of ‘Big Country’.
So, who’s next for the heavyweight? When asked about a possible matchup with former champion Junior Dos Santos, white said:
“I like it. Does Overeem like it?”
