Dana White Comments On Arlovski’s Chances Of Getting A Title Shot
Going into UFC 191 on Saturday night, it was largely suspected that the winner of the co-main event between former champs Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir would earn the next title shot, after Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez fight again.
Now, it looks like that might not be the case.
The fight was not the war everyone expected it to be. Instead it went three rounds and saw both fighters dealing with fatigue and issues landing any real significant strikes. In the end Arlovski got the nod from the judges.
At the post fight press conference, UFC president Dana White commented on the situation and said that the division is tied up right now, alluding to Arlovski not getting the shot, at least no time soon.
Here’s what he said:
“What Andrei’s done, coming back into the UFC and going on the run that he’s gone on, it’s amazing. I mean, obviously he, you know, the judges gave him the decision tonight in this fight and his fight against Travis Browne was unbelieveable. I don’t know if many people picked Arlovski in that fight, but he’s been on an incredible run and unfortunately this Heavyweight division is tied up right now.”
Do you think Arlovski should be next in line?
