Dana White On Jason High’s Release: ‘It was a no brainer’
Before this Saturdays UFC 174 event, UFC president Dana White spoke with the media about a wide range of topics. Of course, UFC Fight Night 43 came up and White addressed some of the controversies from that night. More specifically he spoke about the release of Jason High, who shoved a referee after losing to Rafael Dos Anjos. Here’s what White had to say about the incident.
“I don’t care how mad you are, how upset you are,” White said at the media scrum. “You don’t touch a referee ever. Unforgivable. Don’t come back, ever.”
White wasn’t in attendance in Albuquerque, NM (where the fights took place) so he didn’t see the incident, but White says he doesn’t need to.
“I heard – I didn’t even see it – that he put his hands on a referee. Done. You touched a referee. Done. Over. That’s worse than what (Paul) Daley did to (Josh) Koscheck.”
Just to refresh you memory, White is referencing the incident where Paul Daley threw a punch at Josh Koscheck after the fight had ended. That earned Daley a lifetime ban from the UFC, supposedly.
White said for him it was an easy choice to make.
“No brainer. No brainer.”
