Demetrious Johnson Predicting Kyoji Horiguchi As Next Title Challenger
Demetrious Johnson has earned the reputation as one of the most dominant UFC champions out there, and one of the top pound for pound fighters today.
Johnson has defended his title 5 times since winning the belt in September of 2012, most recently submitting Chris Cariaso in September of 2014.
After the bout, ‘Mighty Mouse’ stated that he would like to take some time off before returning to action.
Now, Johnson is targeting a Memorial Day return, and is predicting Kyoji Horiguchi as his next opponent.
He spoke to MMA Sucka:
“I’m shooting for the Memorial Day weekend card, it’s May 23. I’m hoping they get me on there and I’ll be ready to rock and roll.”
“I’m going to stay focused and wait for the next challenge. I’m pretty sure it might be [Kyoji] Horiguchi – he’s on a little hot streak there. He just beat Louis Gaudinot who’s coming off a year layoff, so I’m focused on myself and I’m training for the UFC to give me a call so I can get back to work.”
