Did UFC 189 Really Do 1 Million PPV Buys?

The question is, did UFC 189 in all of it’s glory and anticipation, manage to reach the one million PPV buy mark? According to whoever updated Conor McGregor’s UFC.COM biography, it did.

In the updated summary of the new UFC interim featherweight champion’s career a statement is made regarding the success of UFC 189, check it out:

The fight attracted a record 16,019 fans to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, plus a $7.2-million live gate and 1 million pay per view buys, proving McGregor’s sizable drawing power. Some 3,000 Irish fans converged on Las Vegas and left deliriously happy.

No one has come forward to confirm or deny the numbers, so we can’t say for 100% that it’s accurate, but hey, why would the UFC lie.(insert sarcasm)
