Dodson: ‘I Want To Murder-Death-Kill Demetrious Johnson’
Leading up to their title fight rematch this Saturday at UFC 191, champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Dodson have had an interesting back and forth.
Johnson isn’t really one for doing a lot of trash talking, while Dodson, well, Dodson is. ‘The Magician’ has been calling for this rematch for a long time, claiming that he believes he won their first fight and mentioning whenever he can that he dropped the champ several times in their first scrap.
Ultimately it was Johnson who got the nod from the judges and has gone on to be a dominant champion, but Dodson isn’t impressed and is calling for a change in the flyweight division, stating that Johnson’s apparent inability to bring in big numbers as a champ is a curse on the division.
In a recent interview on MMAJunkie Radio, Dodson said he plans to murder-death-kill Johnson, a phrase taken from the 1993 movie ‘Demolition Man.’
“I don’t like to sit there and cuddle and be all koala on top of somebody – I just like to sit there and make sure I can punish you. I want to hurt you as much as I can. I want to think about that murder-death-kill. I’m going to murder Demetrious Johnson inside the octagon, lay death to the reign he has as a champion, and kill whatever hope he decides to have to ever fight me again.
“If he wants a rematch, we can go ahead and do it any day of the week. But let’s be realistic – as soon as I bury him in the ground, it’s going to take him awhile to get back up.”
