Dos Anjos too focused on Cerrone to worry about McGregor
This Saturday Rafael Dos Anjos will look to make his first successful lightweight title defense since taking the belt from Anthony Pettis back at UFC 185 in March.
Dos Anjos will face Donald Cerrone, who he defeated via decision back in 2013. Since then ‘Cowboy’ has gone on an iconic 8-fight win streak.
With Conor McGregor’s 13 second KO win over Jose Aldo this past Saturday at UFC 194, talks of McGregor going up to lightweight to face the winner of Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone have increased.
The way Dos Anjos sees it however, he’s too busy focusing on Donald Cerrone to worry about fighting McGregor.
He spoke to MMAJunkie:
“I’m not even thinking of this fight (against McGregor); I’m focused 100 percent on Cerrone right now. Whatever happens later, I’ll be ready. Whoever tries to take my belt, I’m going to be standing here to defend it.”
How do you see a fight between McGregor and the winner of Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone playing out?
