Duffy Getting ‘Next Level’ Training Outside Of Ireland
With Jose Aldo potentially out of his scheduled bout with Conor McGregor at UFC 189, with a rib injury, it’s anyones guess at this point who would fill in on short notice to fight the Notorious one, if anyone.
We don’t know what the UFC is planning if Aldo can’t go and there have been several names thrown around. One name, of a fighter who threw his hat into the ring, was Joseph Duffy, who just happens to be the last man to beat McGregor.
Duffy went on twitter yesterday and said he would be happy to beat his fellow countrymen again. While, it wouldn’t exactly make sense from a rankings point of view, although McGregor getting a title shot also didn’t make complete sense, so who knows.
Either way, Duffy recently talked to MMAJunkie about his training, taking place at Tristar Gym in Montreal.
“It’s a different level. All the guys take care of their own job, they’re very responsible with their careers, and they’re very serious with their careers. There’s no one getting ridiculously overweight or anything else. They take care of themselves, and every day they’re here putting in the work. It’s a great environment to be around.”
“The camp’s going brilliant. Not long after the last fight, I came straight back out here and started working on my game and bringing it all to the next level. This camp I feel a lot more comfortable than last camp. I feel like my game is moving along quite a bit. I just feel like my whole game is flowing together better, between my striking, wrestling and my grappling. The overall thing seems to flow a bit better.”
