Edgar “Dissapointed” In UFC’s Decision To Give Mendes Contingency Plan
The UFC released a statement on Wednesday saying that featherweight champion Jose Aldo did not suffer a broken rib, as reported on Tuesday, but instead only had a bruised rib. Therefore, the main event will continue as planned with Aldo taking on Conor McGregor.
If by some chance Aldo actually can’t go, the UFC has secured Chad Mendes to be on stand-by. Mendes would jump in and fight McGregor for the interim title. So, what about Frankie Edgar?
Edgar has been campaigning hard to get the next title shot, after beating Urijah Faber in Manila. He already feels like he was passed over by McGregor and it appears he’s just been passed over by Mendes.
Here’s what Edgar had to say about the situation:
Disappointed I wasn't the stand by guy. Felt it should of been me, think a lot of you feel the same. Thanks for all the support.

Does Dana White have something against the former lightweight champion? Whatever the reason, it looks like he will have to wait a little longer to get his hands on gold again.
