Evans: ‘I Was Doubting If I Could Ever Come Back’
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans hasn’t fought in nearly two years. His last outing was at UFC 167, where he took out Chael Sonnen in the first round. After that he went through two different surgeries on his knees. During that time he’s been busy doing analyst gigs and staying in the gym. Now, at Saturday’s UFC 192, he’ll take on Ryan Bader in his return fight.
During a recent UFC 192 media conference call, Evans admitted that there were times during those two years that he did doubt if he’d be able to ever come back.
Here’s what he said:
“When you’re dealt a situation like I was dealt, having two surgeries back to back was very frustrating. I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say that, there was a time when I was doubting if I could come back.”
