Faber discusses eye poke

Urijah Faber has never been known to be a dirty fighter and tonight’s bout does not make him one. However, it is unfortunate that an eye poke from Faber favored him to the point where he used it to set up and trap Francisco Rivera in a rear naked choke.

During the post fight press conference, Faber explained his actions and why he did not stop to make sure Rivera was okay. “I saw some weakness and finished. I went on my instincts.”

When asked why he thinks the crowd voiced their disapproval with a chorus of boos, he responded “I think they booed me because of the situation. This is an action/reaction sport and when you’ve been in it for as long as I have, you just react. I just thought ‘I want the finish, NOW!’.”
