Fertitta talks Jones vs. DC II in New York
While MMA may still be illegal in New York, that hasn’t stopped the UFC from booking the Madison Square Garden for April 23rd for a tentative Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier rematch for the UFC light heavyweight championship.
UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta spoke to the New York Post to discuss the status of the event, as well as what the UFC needs to do in order to make the highly anticipated fight happen in New York.
“It would be epic. It would be huge,”
“We’re hopeful this year might be the year. I know we’ve said that many times. But we’re hopeful the bill will not only be introduced for a vote this year, but it will happen early in the session.”
“Hopefully, there will be a decision on it by the middle of January.”
A superfight between Jones and DC at the famed Maison Square Garden would certainly be one of, if not the single biggest, UFC event of all time.
Only time will tell if it will happen!
