GSP UPDATE! Will The New Drug Policy Be Enough?
Former UFC champion Georges St. Pierre left the promotion and cited the lack of drug-testing as one of his reasons. So, with the new, extensive, anti-doping policy set to start next month will we see the once welterweight king return to action? Maybe.
According to UFC Tonight analyst, sources close to St. Pierre say that the new policy is a “step in the right direction to bring him back.” Apparently that wasn’t the only reason he left though, so it still remains unclear as to whether he will be coming out of his hiatus/retirement anytime soon.
St. Pierre last fought against Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in November of 2013. He won that fight but only weeks later declared that he would be giving up the title and taking a break from the sport. Since then fans have been eagerly awaiting to see if he will come back, I guess they’ll have to way some more.
