GSP’s ‘Pot King’ Friend Sentenced To 27 Years In Prison

The Canadian super-star told detractors that he believed everyone was due a second chance, and that he would not turn his back on a friend in need.

In the end though, GSP’s letters to the judge didn’t help, as the $1billion drug-lord was just sentenced to 27 years in prison.

A Canadian marijuana kingpin who admitted he ran a $1 billion smuggling ring was sentenced Wednesday to 27 years in prison by a Brooklyn federal judge.

Jimmy Cournoyer’s operation moved more than 200,000 pounds of high-grade pot into the U.S. from Canada with help from the Hells Angels and the Bonanno crime family, prosecutors said.

Just hours before his sentencing, Cournoyer, 34, was still at it, cooking up a drug deal with an associate, a prosecutor said.

If Cournoyer is allowed to serve his sentence in Canada, he could be eligible for parole in seven years.
