Holloway wants McGregor rematch at “that little soccer field”
Since dropping a unanimous decision to Conor McGregor back in 2013 Max Holloway has gone on a 7-fight win streak that includes 6 finishes, one of which came against Cub Swanson.
Since McGregor won the bout, he has picked up another 4 wins and claimed the UFC interim featherweight championship.
Yesterday, at the ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ Q&A Max Holloway, who is currently slated to fight Jeremy Stephens at UFC 194, was asked about a potential rematch with McGregor.
“If Conor gets through Aldo and I beat Stephens, I’ll come back out to Ireland, and we can fight inside that little soccer field he wants to fight in. Of course I think I’ll beat him.”
The soccer field Holloway is referring to is Croke Park, which seats in excess of 80,000 fans. UFC President Dana White has previously stated that in order to do a show at Croke Park, the event would need Conor McGregor and Joseph Duffy.
Holloway wanted it to be known that if Jose Aldo pulls out of his UFC 194 bout against McGregor, he would be ready to step in.
“I know (if anything happens) there’s a Hawaiian on that card that’s willing to take the fight. Whatever UFC wants, they can give me the call, I’ll be ready.”
How do you see a rematch between McGregor and Holloway going?
