Is Conor McGregor asking for too much money for bout with Rafael dos Anjos?

With all the hype and talk of UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor going up a weight class to fight lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos last week, nothing from the UFC has been officially announced yet. Speculation on the fight hitting rocky roads was reported earlier as both McGregor and dos Anjos camps hinted there were issues for the fight expected to take place at UFC 197 in March.

Brazilian media outlet Globo reported that McGregor demanded more money for the fight, which delayed the UFC’s announcement of the bout that would have been made official at halftime of the Green Bay Packers vs. Washington Redskins NFL game on Sunday.

According to a tweet from MMA Junkie reporter Steven Marrocco, McGregor’s manager denies reports of McGregor being the reason of the announcement delay.

While things look to be more concrete for UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm to defend her title for the first time against Miesha Tate at UFC 197, we will have to wait and see what comes of McGregor versus dos Anjos.
