Former UFC Champion JDS Weighs In on Anderson Silva’s Olympic Dreams
Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva believes he has what it takes to hang with the best in the world in Taekwondo and has decided to throw his hat in the mix for the 2016 Olympic Trials. While there are doubters saying Silva could never hang with the best, Junior Dos Santos believes in his friends dreams.
In a recent interview with Portal do Vale Tudo, Dos Santos shared his thoughts on the possibility of Anderson Silva participating in the 2016 Olympic Games for Brazil. “There are many other athletes already training for it,” Dos Santos said. “The Olympic Games are a cycle. I think it’s all right for Anderson to try. If he passes the tryouts, then it would be fair”.
Anderson Silva has gone on record saying that he would not be afraid of failure if he weren’t to make the team. “I stopped training taekwondo when I was 17, so I know I will face adversities, but it’s a challenge I’m willing to take. I’m not worried about being embarrassed.”
