Joe Rogan vs Cris Cyborg: Cyborg Warfare

By bjpenndotcom - November 25, 2015

Joe Rogan understands fighting. He received his black belt in Taekwondo at 15. At 20, he started judo and received his blue belt after one year of training. Rogan started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Carlson Gracie roughly twenty years ago. He also has a black belt from Eddie Bravo’s 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu gym.

Rogan entered the UFC as a commentator in 97 and has called some of the largest fights that the mixed martial arts world has witnessed. With all the things that Rogan has been involved with, picking a cyber fight with the Invicta FC featherweight champ Cris “Cyborg” (14-1 MMA) isn’t winning him popularity votes right now.

Cyborg jumps on social media in response to Rogans earlier remarks. “Joe Rogan might think his comments about me having a dick are funny, but I think they were mean and hurtful and an example of cyber bullying by ‘the cool kids’.”

“The only time he wants to call me a UFC fighter is when he can use it to make fun of me? Maybe he doesn’t feel like he needs to apologize because he thinks he is some sort of comedian, but it would be the right thing to do, especially if he is ever going to commentate one of my fights!” she continued.

We all know Rogan has an issue with her failed drug tests in the past. Contract negotiations to sign Cyborg to the UFC failed on all counts (having Tito Ortiz didn’t help.) With that being said, the best thing for Rogan to do is to apologize for the penis comments and move on with life. Cyborg may be a striking machine, but she has as much heart and feelings as any other fighter. The consequences of our choice of words can send ripples that transcend to tidal waves.

What are your views on Rogan? Did Cyborg handle it right?
