Joe Schilling: ‘Diaz Suspension Ridiculous, But Will Turn Out To Be A Good Thing’
Bellator MMA and GLORY Kickboxing fighter Joe Schilling has a very interning and overall positive outlook on the whole controversial Nick Diaz suspension situation.
Schilling recently spoke with MMAFighting about the ordeal and said that although he feels that the five-year suspension and fine was absolutely ridiculous, he ultimately feels confident that it will be overturned and that a lot of good will come out of it.
Schilling believes that with all the attention and support that Diaz has received, that not only will he eventually get the suspension overturned, he thinks that major changes will come to the Nevada State Athletic Commission and their practices will be reviewed big time.

“Overall, I think it’s good for Nick. He’s worth more money now. He’s even a bigger name now. A lot of people got behind him and the sport is gonna change. Somebody is gonna get in there and clean house, so to speak, with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Ultimately, it’s going to be a good thing. It’s just really ridiculous and insulting that they did it to Nick Diaz.”
“I think it’s kind of like bittersweet. It’s really unfortunate and disappointing and annoying that it happened to Nick. But I think overall, it’s a good thing for the sport and it’s a good thing that all the people are making noise about it and supporting Nick. I have no doubt that very shortly the ruling will be overturned and Nick will be fighting again.”
Will the Diaz suspension change the way marijuana is handled in the sport?
