John Dodson On DJ: ‘I Couldn’t Stop Him’
Things did not go John Dodson’s way, again, on Saturday night when he fought UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson for the second time.
In their first fight, Dodson was able to drop Johnson a few times with big punches. This time around he wasn’t able to do that. In fact he really wasn’t able to do anything. The champ completely shut him down for all five rounds.
Even though he lost, Dodson was still in his usual good mood at the post fight press conference and talked about the loss, explaining why he had more success in the first night.
Check it out!
“I had more success in the first fight because both of us were going in there not knowing what each other’s strengths were.
“This time we went in there more cautious. He was more intelligent this time. I was trying to defend more takedowns and he was just trying to push that pace, and DJ did a wonderful job about that. He came at me, and my hat is off to him. You can’t sit there and badmouth him because this man is still the champion and he did something that everyone saw him doing. I couldn’t stop him.”
