Johny Hendricks Is Done ‘Campaigning’ For Fights

Former UFC welterweight champion Jonhy Hendricks has had enough and says he will no longer focus on campaigning for big fights.

This comes after Hendricks was passed over for a title shot by Carlos Condit. It was expected that Hendricks would be facing the champ, Robbie Lawler, for a third time. It was a fight that made sense and Hendricks did whatever he could to talk about it and build it up. Then, the UFC announced Condit would be getting the fight.

Needless to say, Hendricks wasn’t all that pleased. He will now fight Tyron Woodley on Oct. 3 at UFC 192 and recently told Ground and Pound TV that he’s finished trying to campaign and is just going fight.

Here’s what he said:

“I’ve been passed a second time. Now, I’m just fighting. If I’m healthy I’m going to fight. I don’t care who it is, when it is. As long as my body is healing. Right after this fight, I’m going to see where my body’s at, take a week off, relax and see what’s next for me. That’s where my head’s at.

“I’m tired of … I campaigned for a fight. I should have got a fight. It didn’t happen. I wasted six months. I wasted six months! I don’t have time for that. I want to fight. I want to get back in there. I want to continue to fight.”
