Josh Thomson Books Tony Ferguson For July Fight

Top UFC lightweight, Josh Thomson has a date and an opponent for his long-awaited return to the Octagon.

The opponent comes way of Ultimate fighter season 13 winner, Tony “El Cucuy” Feruson, and the two currently sit as the only fight booked for July’s trip to San Diego, UFC Fight Night 72, on July 15.

UFC officials confirmed the bout, which will likely serve as a main-card attraction.

Thomson was originally scheduled to make an appearance last month, in Brazil, but an injury forced him from the bout. He will look to bounce back from back-to-back decision losses.

Ferguson last saw action submitting Gleison Tibau. The win marked the latest in a five-fight streak.
