Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson Set For TUF 22 Finale
Well, it’s not Anthony Pettis or Nate Diaz, but Khabib Nurmagomedov finally has an opponent for his octagon return.
The undefeated lightweight will take on the dangerous Tony Ferguson at the TUF 22 finale, which will take place in Las Vegas on Dec. 11.
The fight was confirmed by UFC officials, via the Los Angeles Daily News. A note worth making is that the fight will not be the night’s main event, per UFC officials.
It’s not a bad fight by any means but it is kind of odd. There are obvious storylines for fights between Khabib and Anthony Pettis, or Nate Diaz. The AKA fighter has requested and expressed interest in each of those fights over and over again. Looks like the UFC had different plans.
Khabib is coming back after being out with a knee injury, which unfortunately have seemed to plague the top ranked fighter.
Ferguson is on a tear, with a six fight win streak under his belt, the most recent of which was a one-sided decision over Josh Thomson.
