Silva chokes Kos

It was a tough night for ‘The Ultimate Fighter 1’ veteran Josh Koscheck. The UFC welterweight lost his fifth straight fight to Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night 62, via guillotine choke.

Koscheck looked to make a quick turn around, having lost to Jake Ellenberger at UFC 184, and took the Silva fight on short notice. The former title challenger came out swinging against Silva, but when the fight went to the mat he got trapped in a choke. Even before the fight there was a lot of talk about Kos retiring, win or lose. The fight with Silva was the last on his current UFC contract. So what does Koscheck have to say about retiring? Check out his comments from the post-fight press conference.

“I’m not happy with where I’m at. I’m 37, and finishing the last fights on my contract haven’t been the greatest. I took this fight on short notice, I knew I could come in here and make it a fun fight and it didn’t go my way tonight, but you know what, I showed up, I fight every time, I try to fight hard. Today was Erick’s day and he fought good.”

“I’ve had a good long career, since Ultimate Fighter 1, it’s been fun, it’s been a fun ride. I’m going to go home, sleep for a couple days and reevaluate life–me and Dana, I’m sure we’ll talk.”
