Lorenz Larkin: When I Get to the Top, Everybody Will Know I Deserved It
Lorenz Larkin impressed throughout his co main-event fight with Santiago Ponzinibbio at “UFC Fight Night 70” on Saturday night. Larkin constantly changed levels which kept Ponzinibbio guessing where he was going to attack next which allowed Larkin to land the finishing shots in round two.
Larkin snapped a three fight losing streak at “UFC Fight Night 59” with his TKO win over John Howard, and he doesn’t want to fall in that slump again. “I’m working hard and just trying to change my whole career around and I give them all the thanks in the world for doing that.”
While Larkin likely impressed officials in his last two fights, he does not want to “talk mess” and call out a top fifteen opponent to make the UFC rankings. “I just take it one fight at a time,” Larkin said. “When I get to that point I want to make — whatever they give me, I want it to be deserved. I don’t want to talk mess. None of that. It’s cool for some people but it’s not for me. I want to do it the respectful way and earn it. So when I get there everybody knows that I deserve it.”
