Max Holloway is screaming for a title shot riding 8-fight winning streak
Prior to Conor McGregor ending Jose Aldo’s reign as featherweight champion, Hawaiian Max Holloway who has been on a tear in the featherweight division said there were two fights to make after UFC 194 completed. “Either Holloway vs. (Conor) McGregor 2 at Croke Park or Holloway vs. (Jose) Aldo in Hawaii,” the young Hawaiian fighter shouted in the Octagon after taking a unanimous decision win over Jeremy Stephens.
Holloway’s 8-fight win streak is one win above the new champion Conor McGregor’s 7-fight winning streak in the UFC. Interestingly, Holloway’s last loss came from the hands of McGregor and he is making a point that he is the only UFC opponent of McGregor’s that went the distance to a decision.
What happens next for Conor McGregor is still up in the air. If the new champion remains at featherweight, Frankie Edgar is said to be next in line for the title fight. If that is the case, Holloway may look to get another fight in and look to extend his winning streak and hope for a title shot in the near future.
