McGregor On Aldo: ‘He didn’t break a rib, he started his PERIOD!’
So apparently all the worrying and anticipation and hysteria was for nothing. The UFC released an official statement yesterday, saying that Aldo still plans on fighting and his injury isn’t as severe as first reported.
The fight goes on. Of course, the MMA world had plenty to say about the news, mostly sighs of relief, then there was Conor McGregor.
McGregor stayed mostly quiet while we all waited to see if Aldo would be able to fight, but now that it looks like he’s game, the Irishmen couldn’t resist throwing a verbal jab his way.
It turned out he just had a little period pain.

Ouch! Now, the UFC did say that if for some reason down the road Aldo actually has to pull out, then they have secured No. 1 contender Chad Mendes to step in on short notice if needed. If he does, then Mendes and McGregor would be fighting for the interim featherweight title.
