McGregor theorizes on why Rousey lost at UFC 193
When Holly Holm defeated Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 last month, the world watched in awe as the formerly invincible Rousey sat on the canvas in disbelief of the flawless performance put forth by Holly Holm.
Immediately theories began emerging as to why Rousey lost in such devastating fashion, many of them not giving proper credit to Holly Holm.
Referee Herb Dean even admitted that he’s seen Rousey in better shape than he did on fight night.
Now, interim UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is giving his thoughts on why Rousey lost to Holm.
He spoke to MMAFighting:
“If I was to take away something from Ronda’s (loss) is maybe push everything away.
I don’t know her situation, but maybe from looking from where I was at she was doing a little bit too much on the media side. That coupled with personal things that I maybe don’t know about maybe could have hampered her training a little bit, maybe could have hampered her mind. Then the particular style of opponent in Holly may have made her a little bit too emotionally invested.
It’s important just to still the mind, calm it. Make everything smaller than it is. That’s maybe what I would take from that.”
