Melvin Manhoef wants fight with Wanderlei Silva in UFC

There’s no rest for the wicked, and as far as Melvin Manhoef is concerned there will be “No Mercy” if he has his way and cuts a deal with the greatest MMA organization in the world. Manhoef has recently expressed his desire to fight for the UFC, and he already has an opponent in mind. Wanderlei Silva, one of the most exciting strikers the sport has to offer, and a former Pride Middleweight Champion holding the most knockouts in Pride history.

Some may say Silva has seen his best days, but he was one to disagree when he went out and knocked out Cung Le at UFC 139 and had an exciting, hard fought bout against Rich Franklin at UFC 147 back in June of 2012. If you were to say this fight has fireworks all over it, you’d be making an understatement.

Manhoef is not without some out standing credentials of his own. If this ‘hypothetical’ fight were to happen he’d be bringing in a 27-9 record with 25 of them coming by way of knock out. The UFC would just need to look at his past two fights to see the kind of damage he can do in their middleweight division. Being a Dutch style kickboxer with outstanding power, crisp punches, and thunderous kicks, Manhoef is a tall order for anyone looking to have a long career.

Back in 2008 he knocked out UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt in just 18 seconds to show the world that he can stand and bang with the biggest and best strikers in the world. Its safe to say any die hard fan would be looking forward to these events coming to fruition, but the ball is now in the UFC’s court to make such a dream match up become a reality.
