Mendes Wants Aldo’s Belt Back In America “Where it belongs”

By BJPENN.COM News - May 15, 2014

Prior to Jose Aldo’s long title reign in both the UFC and WEC, Urijah Faber was the king at 145.

True, there was a guy named Brown who held WEC gold in-between the Faber and Aldo era’s, but it was short-lived and that belt’s longtime home was Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.

Chad Mendes wants it back where it belongs.

The Team Alpha Male fighter told UFC Tonight what his upcoming scrap with Aldo means for himself and his team.

Check it:

“This is a huge fight for me. This is it. This is the top of the top. I fought him once before and it’s my only loss. That Chad Mendes is a completely different Chad Mendes than the one who’s here now. My mixed martial arts game has gotten so much better. My power, accuracy, everything is there as far as my standup and he has to worry about my wrestling also. This is my chance to bring that belt back to the United States where it belongs and I’m excited to do it.”
