Miesha Tate’s Manager ‘Shocked’ She Isn’t Getting Rousey Fight
UFC bantamweight Miesha Tate was promised a third shot at champion Ronda Rousey after her dominating win over Jessica Eye at UFC on FOX 16.
Apparently that’s not worth much these days, as she will not be getting that fight and instead undefeated Holly Holm will meet Rousey at UFC 195 in Jan.
The news was announced early this morning on ‘Good Morning America’, which of course is your number one destination for all MMA news, by Rousey herself, who called Holm her greatest challenge yet.
Tate’s manager, Josh Jones, spoke with MMAFighting and was shocked by the news, saying that he found out about it the same time everyone else did.
“I’m absolutely shocked. I found out just like you did. Very disappointed to hear the news.”
“I want to know the reasons behind [the decision]. To not even be given a head’s up is very disappointing. She doesn’t even know yet. She is going to be absolutely shocked.”
I would say it’s surprising that the UFC didn’t contact Tate’s team about the news before hand, but is it really?
