MONEY! Holm will earn more cash fighting Rousey than Zingano did
Miesha Tate will be missing out on a major payday after getting overlooked for her shot at Ronda Rousey’s UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. Rousey broke the news that Holly Holm would be next in line for an opportunity at gold in the main-event of UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia. The fight is set to take place at the Etihad Stadium which could house over 50,000 fans.
Holm and her management are finally getting the check they feel they deserve.
“All I can tell is everything I said in [the past] interview has come to fruition,” Holm’s manager Lenny Fresquez told Sherdog. “And that’ll answer your question. I can tell you that she will be making more than Cat Zingano [made at UFC 184]. I can tell you that.”
Cat Zingano’s performance at UFC 184 was that of a loose-cannon, but it did anything but payoff. The only payoff Zingano received after her unfortunate fourteen second loss was the $100,000 check she received from Zuffa for showing up.
Fresquez and his client Holm will be looking to avoid a similar fate and actually tried to throw in a tune-up fight before a shot at the championship. “”Of course there was hesitation on my part. I asked them for one more fight and they said, ‘No, this is the fight we would like you to take. We’re under contract and they’re our bosses.”
Rousey and Holm will square off at “UFC 193” which is set to take place on November 14, 2015. Who do you have walking out of the octagon with their hands raised? Will Holly Holm pull off the upset of the century? Share your predictions in the comment section below!
