New TV Deal Opens Possibility Of More UFC Australia Events
With a new TV deal in the works, the UFC could possibly be taking more trips to Australia to hold events, and fight fans may even see a season of The Ultimate Fighter between Australia and New Zealand.
According to Tom Wright, the UFC Managing Director for Operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, who spoke at the post-fight press conference on Friday, the UFC is in the middle of a deal with FOX Sports Australia.
“We are in the middle of concluding our broadcast agreements both FOX Sports Australia here and with Sky in New Zealand, and those are the two places where it makes a lot of sense for us to look at the next ‘TUF: Nations.’ It probably wont happen in 2015, maybe 2016.”
The UFC held UFC Fight Night Sydney this past Friday which featured a headlining bout between Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold, which Rockhold won via TKO in the first round.
