NSAC deciding whether or not to move ahead complaint against Silva

The NSAC is in the process of deciding whether or not to move ahead with a disciplinary complaint against Wanderlei Silva.

The news comes shortly after Silva’s lawyer, Ross Goodman, filed a motion to dismiss the complaint on the grounds that the NSAC had no jurisdiction over the fighter when it randomly drug tested Silva ahead of UFC 175.

In its complaint against the fighter, the NSAC looks to define Silva as an “unarmed combatant” because he participated in promotional activities for UFC 175 and knew he was scheduled to fight Chael Sonnen at the July 2014 event.

If the commission denies the motion made by Silva’s lawyer, the state attorney general’s office will present a case against “The Axe Murderer”.

The meeting, which Silva will not be present at, takes place September 23.

Silva has admitted that he evaded the drug test because he was taking a banned diuretic at the time, this to help him recover from a wrist injury.

Silva hasn’t fought since March of 2013, when he knocked out Brian Stann in the main event of UFC Fight Night Japan.
