UFC 195 FS1 Prelim Results: Kish vs Ansaroff

Justine Kish the ethnic Russian born fighting out of Cramerton NC (4-0 MMA) vs Nina Ansaroff (6-4 MMA). Kish is a European Muay Thai champion and formerly had a short stint on TUF but left the house do to a knee injury. Ansaroff was on a five fight win streak until her first UFC event against Juliana Lima saw her on the wrong end of a unanimous decision over a year ago. Round one begins as Kish look to strike, but Ansaroff willing to engage with her in the pocket. Big flurries from both to start. They move back out to the center and reset. Ansaroff complains of an eye poke. . Doctor comes out, but we fight on. Quick exchanges again on the restart. Both women finding their targets. Kish with a spinning elbow. Big left lands, as well. Ansaroff with an elbow inside. Front kicks traded. Kish connecting again, looking good with her striking, Ansaroff not backing down though. Ansaroff working low kicks. Kish scores with a knee. Kish pressing forward. Ansaroff with some counters, but the Kish is hitting often and accurate. Kish pushes Ansaroff down but doesn’t follow. Kish pressures until the the round closes.

Scott “Hot Sauce” Holtzman (8-0 MMA) against Drew Dober (15-7-1 MMA) should be a a classic match up of striker vs grappler. Dober who has a background in Muay Thai and BJJ will have better success on the ground where “Hot Sauce” is going to want to keep this fight on the feet. Round two begins as Dober shoots a double from way outside and Holtzman stuffs it before putting him on the cage. Dober circles off and separates with a right/left combo, then he drills Holtzman with a right hook. Dober ducks under a jab and labors for a takedown, settling for the rear waist lock. Dober separates with a right elbow to the head. Holtzman glances with a right cross, then plasters Dober clean with a right kick to the face.
UFC 195 -Fight Pass Headliner- Results: Poirier vs Duffy

The long and awaited bout between Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier vs “Irish Joe Duffy is moments away from the action as the two missed a chance to square off back in October but Duffy (14-1 MMA) was concussed during training. Poirier (18-4 MMA) is looking to increase his win streak to three. Round one Duffy presses Poirier early but counter right. Duffy with the hands down low shoots a few jabs in Poirier’s face. Poirier answers with two short rights, then glances a few blows and trade shots in the pocket. Poirier catches him with a jab but Duffy answers with a hard right counter, then flurries when Poirier covers up and leans on the cage hurting The Diamond. Poirier recovers and steps in with a few jabs but then walks into a short right from Duffy. Poirier tags him with a right and then lands two more shots in the clinch to set up a take-down. Duffy sits up on the cage and Poirier squeezes his knees together to stop an escape. Poirier hammers Duffy with a big elbow. Poirier looks for the front headlock as Duffy stands up but can’t keep control. They both land shots to the head on the clinch break. Poirier keeps leather in his face and Duffy lands a right to close the frame. Got a napkin? It’s a bloody good mess.
UFC 195 Fight Pass Prelim Results: Soto vs Tanaka

Second fight of the night is Joe “One Bad Mofo” Soto vs Japan’s Michinori Tanaka. Soto is on a two fight losing streak and looks to turn things around in 2016. Tanaka was undefeated winning his UFC debut but losing his most recent outing last year against Kyung Ho Kang at UFC Fight Night 52. Round one opens up and Tanaka comes out in a wide stance relying on his powerful movement to move in and out while Soto lands a nice leg kick but he fails to take down Tanaka showing off some good TDD. Tanaka lands a straight right with three minutes into round one. Tanaka’s unorthodox movement looks to give Tanaka an advantage as he takes down Soto, Soto then transitions to a triangle choke under a minute and losses position as both fighters stand and share smiles as the round closes.

While there have been rumors for quite some time in regards to Georges St. Pierre potentially returning to the UFC, so far nothing is set in stone. Famed boxing coach Freddie Roach revealed that St. Pierre would be going through a 6-week ‘test’ training camp to determine whether or not he was ready to sign to book a fight, however we’ve heard no updates on how that went.
Bisping sees holes in Silva's game

Since it was announced last month that Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva would be fighting in the main event of UFC Fight Night London on February 27th, there’s been a bit of back and forth banter between the two, mostly started by Bisping. First Bisping took to Twitter to tell Silva to leave the viagra out of this training camp, and obvious jab at Silva’s failed drug test after his UFC 183 fight against Nick Diaz.
