It’s been 10 days since one of the largest UFC events of the year if not in history went down in Las Vegas at UFC 194. Jose Aldo was ruthlessly KO with a counter left that dropped the former champ in the first frame. Controversy surrounds the possible rematch of McGregor vs Aldo with speculation that Aldo might be passed over for an immediate rematch. Earlier this week on WWE’s ‘Monday Night Raw’ it was revealed that former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey had been awarded the WWE Slammy award for ‘This is Awesome moment of the Year’. The moment which earned Rousey the award was her appearance at WrestleMania 31 alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson which saw her hip toss WWE exec Stephanie McMahon, and assist Dwayne Johnson in taking out Triple H, all while sporting a Dragon Ball Z shirt.

At UFC 194 when Conor McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo he earned himself a spot on the cover of EA Sports UFC 2 alongside former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. At the time the cover was revealed, while the game was said to be release in the spring there was no official release date set.

Last month Tim Kennedy revealed that he would be finally returning to the Octagon. With that being said, Kennedy didn’t give an opponent or date for his return, just that he would be coming back to fight PED users and TRT abusers. Now, according to MMAJunkie Kennedy has been forced to turn down a February bout with Lyoto Machida due to his military obligations that will see him teaching a military urban combat course, and a personal defense workshop in Texas.

After going on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC starting back in January 2014, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was derailed in his title fight with lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in 66 seconds over the weekend. Cerrone has had few things to say on his second loss to dos Anjos but congratulated the champion on a job well done.

On September 9, 1994, Emanuel Yarbrough stepped his way into the Octagon and would be immediately engrained into UFC history. The sumo wrestler who weighed in at 616 pounds for his fight at UFC 3 passed away at age 51 on Dec. 12. “The Gentle Giant” would be the largest fighter to ever grace the Octagon and will forever be a part of UFC history. It’s been over a month Holly Holm defeated Ronda Rousey back at UFC 193 in Melbourne Australia to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. Since then the two female UFC stars have had vastly different lives. Holm went on a massive media tour, while Rousey sought shelter in privacy for several weeks with her boyfriend, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.

This past weekend in the main event of UFC on FOX 17 Donald Cerrone fought Rafael Dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight championship in what was a highly anticipated rematch. Unfortunately for Cowboy he was stopped in the first round by strikes, falling 0-2 to Dos Anjos, and having his 8-fight win streak snapped in the process.

Miesha “Cupcake” Tate has a better chance at a title shot without Ronda Rousey on top of the women’s 135 lbs division.   No one knows that more than former Strikeforce champion Tate.     Dana White sounded off,  “If Miesha Tate is thinking retirement, it’s probably a good idea” comment that pretty much took any “bluff” or shot at a title down the drain.
